Effective Date: July 27, 2026
Welcome to Afghan Hawasana Catering. We are a family-run halal Afghan catering business serving Tukwila, Washington, and surrounding areas. These Terms & Conditions apply to catering services, online orders, pickup, delivery, and related services. By placing an order or booking an event, you agree to these Terms.
1. Orders and Acceptance
Orders may be submitted through our website, by phone, email, social media, or another method we approve. An order is not accepted until Afghan Hawasana confirms it in writing, electronically, or by issuing an invoice, order confirmation, or payment receipt.
We may decline or cancel an order before acceptance due to unavailability, pricing or menu errors, insufficient notice, delivery limitations, suspected fraud, or other reasonable business needs. If we cancel an order after receiving payment, we will refund the amount paid for the unavailable portion of the order.
2. Pricing and Payment
Prices are listed or quoted in U.S. dollars and may exclude applicable taxes, delivery charges, setup charges, staffing, rentals, gratuity, or other disclosed fees.
We accept online card payments and other payment methods approved by Afghan Hawasana. Customers must provide accurate billing and contact information and authorize the charge for the full order amount, including applicable taxes and fees.
For pickup, delivery, and online food orders, full payment is due when the order is placed unless we confirm another arrangement in writing.
3. Catering Event Bookings
A catering event date is reserved only when:
- Afghan Hawasana has confirmed the event details and quote; and
- The customer has paid the full quoted amount for the event, including any applicable delivery, setup, staffing, rental, or service fees.
A quote does not reserve a date, menu, equipment, staff, or delivery time until full payment is received and we send confirmation. Event pricing may change if the customer changes guest count, menu, location, delivery distance, service level, event timing, or other agreed details.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email, text message, or another method approved by Afghan Hawasana.
- Seven or more calendar days before the event: We will provide a refund of amounts paid, less any nonrecoverable third-party costs, specially purchased ingredients, custom items, rental charges, delivery/setup expenses already incurred, and work already completed.
- Less than seven calendar days before the event: Payments are nonrefundable because food, staffing, scheduling, and event preparation may already be committed.
- Same-day orders and prepared food orders: These are generally nonrefundable once preparation has begun.
- Cancellation by Afghan Hawasana: If we cannot fulfill a confirmed order for reasons within our reasonable control, our responsibility is limited to refunding the amount paid for the unfulfilled portion of the order, unless another remedy is required by law.
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights available to customers under applicable law.
5. Delivery and Pickup
Delivery is available within approximately 50 miles of Tukwila, Washington, subject to availability, traffic, weather, staffing, food-safety considerations, and our confirmation. Delivery and setup fees, if any, are quoted based on distance, order size, location, timing, access conditions, and requested service.
Customers must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, contact number, access instructions, and a person authorized to accept the order. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, and may be affected by traffic, weather, venue access, or circumstances outside our control.
Risk of loss and responsibility for food pass to the customer when food is delivered to the agreed location or picked up by the customer or the customer’s representative. The customer is responsible for prompt refrigeration, safe holding temperatures, reheating, serving, and handling after pickup or delivery.
6. Menu Changes and Custom Orders
We will do our best to accommodate menu customization, guest-count changes, and special requests. All final menu selections, guest counts, dietary requests, venue details, and service requirements must be submitted no later than seven calendar days before the event.
Changes requested within seven days of an event are not guaranteed and may result in additional charges. We cannot guarantee substitutions, availability of specific ingredients, identical presentation, or accommodation of late changes.
7. Allergens and Halal Service
Our food is prepared as halal Afghan cuisine. We make reasonable efforts to source and prepare halal ingredients; however, customers with specific certification, ingredient-origin, or religious-preparation requirements must notify us before ordering so we can discuss whether we can accommodate them.
Our kitchen and food preparation areas may handle common allergens, including milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, sesame, and other ingredients. We cannot guarantee that any item is completely free of allergens or cross-contact.
Customers are responsible for informing us of all food allergies, sensitivities, dietary restrictions, and guest requirements before ordering. Our food information is not medical advice; customers with severe allergies or medical dietary needs should consult an appropriate health professional and use their own judgment before consuming our food. Washington’s Retail Food Code establishes food-safety standards for food sold to the public.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Afghan Hawasana is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost opportunity, or event-related inconvenience.
Our total liability relating to an order or event will not exceed the amount paid to Afghan Hawasana for the affected order or service. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability arising from our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or obligations imposed by applicable law.
9. Intellectual Property
The Afghan Hawasana name, logo, website content, photographs, menus, branding, recipes, food concepts, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Afghan Hawasana. They may not be copied, reproduced, used, or distributed without our prior written permission.
10. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a legal claim, the customer agrees to contact Afghan Hawasana and make a good-faith effort to resolve the issue directly.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, any legal action relating to these Terms must be filed in a state or federal court with proper jurisdiction in King County, Washington.
11. General Terms
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a revised effective date and will apply to orders placed after posting. Confirmed event bookings remain subject to the Terms accepted at the time of booking unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.
